How to Market a Translation Service Web site?

One of my friend is launching a translation service web site. He plans to provide low cost translation service to small business and individuals. The price is 6 cents per words, compared to the 20 to 30 cents per words offered by most translation services. If you are a marketing pro, would you offer some insights/ideas how to market this site? The site is: www.tracytranslation.com.

It would have cost me $3.88 to translate your question in German. I’m not really convinced this is a reasonable price as to the most part google translate and babelfish do 80% of the job for free and a good freelance editor can be hired for $35 per hour and deliver 20 times the size of this text. Anyways. In my opinion your friend can try to position his business in some niche as something more than just translation – for example, English-to-Chinese translation, editing, and production of marketing and business materials for american businesses with trading interest in China. Once he finds his specialization, he can market it online using adwords and other pay-per-click programs
