web marketing consulting
What do you call someone who builds websites (via Joomla!) using templates?

I have a business consulting firm (general business, marketing, editorial, PR) that caters to small businesses. These are businesses that generally do not have a web presence, such as hair stylists, plumbers, etc. These are folks who rely on “word of mouth” and great work. With our reliance on the Internet, I want to help customers have an easy-to-manage site that looks great and gives them that needed web presence. Most of my customers are afraid of the Net and technology, so this is uncharted territory for them.

I have enough skills to build a nice site for them through a template (RocketTheme and now Template Monster) and make some changes on the backend (CSS and HTML) to customize it to their needs. What am I? Clearly, I am not a designer or builder. I don’t want to misrepresent myself when there are folks who live and breathe design and code!

Also, any ideas of what a person in this role should charge?

Why are you not a designer or builder?

Just because you happen to use Joomla as your tool of choice doesn’t mean you suddenly morph into some different sort of animal.

You are a web designer, a web builder. You specialize in creating easy-to-use Joomla websites for non-technical customers.

Me, I’m a computer programmer. Just because I use C, or C#, or Java, or Pascal as my tool of choice instead of machine language doesn’t make me any less of a computer programmer.
