search engine optimization contract
How many weeks legally must i give Notice?

Hi there,
Mu job title is a “junior office assistant” But i actually do Search engine optimisation & manage cost per click accounts (online marketing) My boss pays me minimum wage which was fine while i was learning but i now do just as much as anyone else and there has been no mention of a pay rise. She keeps saying there is a contract she will be getting me to sign saying i wont work for a competitior and some other stuff. I have never seen this contract nor signed anything. How much notice can/should i legally give? And can i go and imediately legally work for a competitor? Im in melbourne Australia, thanks in advance.

You don’t “legally” have to give any notice. Ethically, you should give 2 weeks, if you ever want to use them as a reference in the future, they will not have anything bad to say.
